This was my main project during my Animation and VFX Master Course at Dundee University, 2022-23. This project was created to develope my learning into the game creation pipeline using Unreal as the game engine. DoughNauts, a delicious adventure in a hand-made space allows you to become the newest member of the crew, the dounut and carry out tasks for you crew in this sci-fi adventure.
This project I carried out the full pipeline myself, from character and set creation to setting it all up within the Unreal Engine.
The characters were created by photogrammetry scanning the food product, using that to build the outfit around it. This was then 3D printed and crafted over with fondant which was Artec Scanned back into 3D. Working on the characters I continued to develop my skills within;
Modelling
Texture Baking
Rigging
Animating
As well as characters this project also allowed me to create assets for the game build. Creating the assets through there concept to the completion and implamentation into the game.
One idea which had been dropped during the early stages of the project was picked back up by Katy Rigby, the idea of having moldy zombie esk characters which the player would have to take down with a range of candy themes weaponry.
